In the role of project assistant, Julie Hodge handles the volunteer coordination needs of various transportation-related research projects. Her primary role is to recruit, screen, schedule, and greet study volunteers. Julie also assists in maintaining the database of volunteers who would like to be contacted for possible participation in one of VTTI’s many nationwide research projects. As a Volunteer Coordination Group member, she also assists with conducting various research tasks, such as consenting, transporting, compensating, and instructing participants during sessions. Julie has worked for VTTI since 2017; before she joined the Volunteer Coordination Group, she worked as a data reductionist on multiple naturalistic driving studies. Julie graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. degree.
