Christie Ridgeway is a Research Associate in the Research to Practice & Outreach Program in the Division of Freight, Transit and Heavy Vehicle Safety. Ms. Ridgeway earned her B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering and M.Eng. in Human Factors Engineering from Virginia Tech. She has leveraged this background to support projects involving human-technology interactions, specifically with heavy vehicle safety. In her role at VTTI, Ms. Ridgeway has contributed to projects involving the role of technology in vehicles such as driver monitoring systems and external human machine interfaces for commercial vehicles. Additionally, she has supported projects investigating integration of higher-level ADS commercial vehicles with existing fleet infrastructure. Ms. Ridgeway’s engineering perspective allows her to focus on how research can support applied solutions and outreach. Ms. Ridgeway has a passion for Human Factors Engineering design and research and enjoys gaining industry-applicable experience in this field through the projects at the VTTI.
