Paolo Terranova is a Research Associate in the Division of Data and Analytics at VTTI. His research centers on advancing transportation safety through innovations in vehicle automation, Advanced Rider/Driver Assistance Systems (ARAS/ADAS), crash injury prediction models, and road-user behavior analysis. With specialized expertise in data analytics, vehicle dynamics, and statistical modeling, Paolo has contributed to key projects involving micromobility kinematics, Level 2 automation systems, and motorcycle safety evaluations. He has also served as a teaching assistant for engineering courses, actively supporting student engagement and academic development. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics at Virginia Tech, Paolo received a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florence, Italy.
