Dr. Manhua Wang is a Human Factors Associate in the Division of Data and Analytics at VTTI. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2024, with a certificate in Human Factors for Transportation Safety. She has extensive experience in adopting quantitative and qualitative research methods to seek solutions for optimizing the human-technology partnership in the context of automation systems. Her primary areas of research include in-vehicle intelligent agents, explainable human-machine interface, advanced driver-assistance systems, driver monitoring and intervention, driver impairment, driving behavior modeling, and eye-tracking based driver behavior analysis. Dr. Wang is also a recipient of multiple awards and research-oriented fellowships, including the Alphonse Chapanis Best Student Paper award at the 2023 Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, UPS Doctoral Fellowship, and Virginia Tech Graduate Research and Development Program award.
