Marvin Nutt, Data Engineer

Marvin Nutt has over 30 years of experience in data processing, management, and analytics. Prior to joining VTTI at the end of October 2023, Mr. Nutt worked at Ford Motor Company for 21 years. He spent over 14 of those years dedicated to curation and analysis of NHTSA’s national crash databases and many other data sources while on the Safety Data Analytics team within the Automotive Safety Office as Researcher and Database Administrator, then later as Manager having responsibility for developing proprietary formatted Multi-Year Datasets for all NHTSA crash datasets; Insurance Institute for Highway Safety; National Vehicle Population Profile; NHTSA's star rating system; New Car Assessment Program; and NHTSA Crash Test Data Extraction. He assisted with research and analysis with Biomechanics, Global Automotive Safety Compliance, Ford of Europe, Crash Safety, Office of General Counsel and Vehicle Safety Assurance. On the Global Data Insights and Analytics team, Mr. Nutt managed a team that ingested legacy Ford data into the new Hadoop HDFS environments, and then he worked in Product Development Connected Vehicle Data Quality. Mr. Nutt holds a B.S. in Human Resources Management from Park College, is a SAS Software Certified Professional, and earned a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Oakland University in 2014.
