Dr. Samer Katicha is a research scientist at the Center for Sustainable & Resilient Infrastructure where he manages the Structural Evaluation research area. Dr. Katicha has over 20 years of experience in the areas of pavement management, structural evaluation, surface properties and safety, and material characterization. He has worked on numerous externally funded research projects totaling $12.2 Million in research funding with $10.7 Million of those in a co-Principal Investigator capacity which has resulted in over 80 publications including journal articles, conference papers, and technical reports. He currently manages the Transportation Pooled Fund TPF-5(385) 'Pavement Structural Evaluations with Traffic Speed Deflection Devices (TSDDs)' which has a membership from 26 state highway agencies and a total of $4.5 Million. He is also a member of TRB committee AKP40 on Pavement Structural Testing and Evaluation and a past member of TRB committee AKP30 on Design and Rehabilitation of Asphalt Pavements. Dr. Katicha received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 2007 from Virginia Tech.
