Gabrial Anderson is a research associate for the Division of Vehicle, Driver, & System Safety where he conducts human factors research in the context of transportation. His work has spanned multiple fields, including driver behavior, cybersecurity, developing human-machine interfaces, and testing novel vehicle designs. Anderson’s work primarily focuses on vehicles equipped with automated features ranging from partial to full driving automation. Prior to his current position, he worked as a data reductionist for VTTI on multiple naturalistic driving studies. Anderson is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech, and he holds an M.A. in experimental psychology from California State University, Fresno, and a B.S. in psychology from Virginia Tech.
