Rebecca Hammond is a Senior Research Associate and Group Leader of Heavy Vehicle Programs & Initiatives, in the Division of Freight, Transit, and Heavy Vehicle Safety. Ms. Hammond earned a B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Human Factors Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Ms. Hammond manages the business and administrative functions for DHVY including all aspects of divisional budget tracking, resource tracking and hiring needs. She has 23 years of experience managing research projects and research tasks for over $45 million of contracted research. She is an expert on large-scale naturalistic driving data including the collection and reduction of the data. Ms. Hammond has extensive experience with data collection (both on road and naturalistic), driver recruitment, data reduction, Institutional Review Board (IRB) knowledge, project and task management, and budget tracking and development. Ms. Hammond currently holds over 65 scientific publications, conference proceedings and technical reports.
