Mark Petersen is a Senior Research Specialist in the Division of Freight, Transit, and Heavy Vehicle Safety. Mr. Petersen earned his B.A. in English with a focus on Creative Writing at Virginia Polytechnic and State University. Mr. Petersen holds a Class A CDL and loves opportunities to drive trucks. Before his work at VTTI Mr. Petersen worked in a research laboratory in the Entomology Department at Virginia Tech as a Lab Technician. In his role at VTTI Mr. Petersen assists with research, installing components in research vehicles, reviewing data, driving vehicles, and helping export research through education and deliverable products. Mr. Petersen’s main interest in working at VTTI is to have a meaningful impact on the trucking industry and play a role in improving safety on our highways.
