Mr. Kerns is a Senior Research Specialist in the Division of Freight, Transit, and Heavy Vehicle Research. He has aided in the collection and reduction of data in many research projects during his time at VTTI. In addition to his current research role, Mr. Kerns has become a liaison between his research division and the engineering division within VTTI. He helps coordinate and perform physical installations of data collection equipment for many different types of vehicles and has become very adept at the process. He also participates in the Sharing the Road program within his division which travels to different high schools in order educate young drivers on how to drive around big trucks on the highway. Mr. Kerns looks forward to gaining more experience as a researcher and installer through more hands-on experience and projects.
